Intro to Patent Families in Quartet

Quartet is a family-based search system which utilizes simple patent families.

Quartet is a search system for patent publications. Quartet can be used to search granted patents, published applications, utility models, plant patents, and design patents from 74 authorities.

Full text documents are searchable in English. Documents published in non-English languages are translated via machine translations. Non-English publications can be searched in English via machine translations or in the native language.

Searching in English will search the entire patent corpus. It is possible, however, to run Boolean searches in other languages through Fielded search or the Command Line. See special characters.
